statement and skills
By the way, … Hardmood is the international version of the traditional german name Hartmut. Google gave me this name when I translated some of my textes with their early translation-services. I got used to it and became kind of my artist name. I was born in Düsseldorf, Germany in october 1978. I was always interested in LEGO, paper airplanes, art-projects, punkrock and always loved to play around with tecnical stuff which at least drove me to study New Media Design at The University of the Arts Berlin in the class of Prof. Joachim Sauter and the University of La Laguna (Canary Islands, Spain). After different times running the Berlin-Marathon I did my thesis summa cum laude in the form of a digital pilgrimage in summer 2007. I am a founding member of the charity organisation Pratham e.V. a non profit organisation that promotes education of slum dwelling children in India. As one of the organisators of the “Indo-German Business Forum” I collect donations for Pratham. I can say that my professors, lecturers, mentors and last but not least the bosses of the studios I worked at, formed my opinion that anything is possible, you just need a clear vision and there is no problem that cannot be solved by hard thinking. Following 1.) the roman emperor Marcus Aurelius “Always note that nothing stays as it is and remember that nature always changes its forms.” and 2.) Goethe’s smart words “It is not important where we are, but where we go.“, I work on different Design-, (Interactive) Architecture and Media-Art projects. I love driving my Mini Cooper and 1975 Vespa 50 Special, drinking Yerba Mate (and Club Mate), New Media, fresh technology, software gadgets and actually fulltime working as an Art Director and Concept Designer for the great design office ART+COM in Berlin.
