Every stone has different characteristics. Optimal would be [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flint|flint]], [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chert|chert]], [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obsidian|obsidian]] or other [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conchoidal_fracture|conchoidal fracturing stones]], but you might not find those on campus. Anyhow let us see what we can encounter: Try to find stones that look like fragments from bigger parts and search for stones that splinter if you hit them with another stone. The big stone should perfectly match your hand. This stone will be your __hammer tool__ (see [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knapping|flintknapping on Wikipedia]]). It should have different kind of sharp edges and corners, and it should be //hard//. You will use it to hit the smaller stone pieces and transform those into __arrow heads__ (like the ones that you can [[https://www.amazon.de/10-kleine-Pfeilspitzen-Steinzeit-Nachbau/dp/B009Q8OTMW|buy from Amazon]]). Bring your stones to the next meeting on [[http://www.felix-beck.de/nyuad/teaching/doku.php?id=men_machines_11-01-16|Thursday]] and take them to our weekend trip! * Work on your machine prototype.
